Steven Scherer is the Ruth Wagner Van Meter and J. Ray Van Meter Professor of Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania. The causes of neuropathy have always been the focus of his clinical and laboratory research - a collaborative effort involving physicians and scientists from around the world, as well as patients and patient-led organizations. His current work includes defining the genetic basis and natural history of people with inherited neuropathies, as well as preclinical investigations of animal models of inherited neuropathies.
