Sally Temple, PhD

Neural Stem Cell Institute

As Scientific Director, Dr. Temple  oversees research programs at the Neural Stem Cell Institute with the goal of understanding the role of stem cells in Central Nervous System  development, maintenance, and repair, including basic to translational projects. Her group is developing a stem cell-based therapy for age-related macular degeneration (AMD) through clinical trial. They use patient-derived stem cells to model AMD and tauopathies, to discover underlying causes and test novel candidate therapeutics.
