Dr. Romergryko G. Geocadin, MD, is presently a Professor of Neurology, Anesthesiology-Critical Care Medicine and Neurosurgery, with joint appointment in Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (JHSOM). His medical degree is from UERM College of Medicine, internship at the Philippine General Hospital, general neurology training at the NYU Medical Center, and clinical and research fellowship in neurocritical care at JHSOM. He was director of the Neuroscience Critical Care Units (NCCU) at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Bayview (JHB). He was founding chairperson of the Multidisciplinary Critical Care Practice Committee at JHB. He is co-director of the Johns Hopkins Encephalitis Center. Dr. Geocadin was the founding chair of the Neurocritical Care Society (NCS) Website/Communications Committee, and founding editor-in-chief of Currents, the NCS News Magazine. He was NCS President in 2015. Currently, Dr. Geocadin is a member of the Board of Directors of the ANA and the chair of the Professional Development Committee. He is chair of the Online Education Taskforce, now the Education Innovation Subcommittee which initiated and oversees the some of the ANA online education programs (e.g. ANA Investigates Podcast). He is Principal Investigator (mPI) of the NIH (4UH3HL145269-02) sponsored Influence of Cooling duration on Efficacy in Cardiac Arrest Patients (ICECAP), and also mPI of an NIH funded laboratory study on cerebrovascular autoregulation in a pre-clinical cardiac arrest resuscitation model (5R01HL071568-16).
