Miya Asato, MD

Miya Asato MD is Vice President of Training at Kennedy Krieger Institute. She is faculty in the Departments of Neurology and Pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Dr. Asato is Director of the Maternal Child Health Bureau Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities center grant at Kennedy Krieger Institute which fosters interprofessional clinical and leadership training across 14 health and educational disciplines. She is Program Director of the Neurodevelopmental Disabilities Residency, one of eight programs in the country to provide subspecialty training. As a child neurologist she specializes in the developmental and behavioral impacts of childhood epilepsy as well as other neurodevelopmental disorders. Dr. Asato is an advocate and collaborator to promote research and advancement of systems of care across the lifespan for patients and families with neurodevelopmental disorders and provides leadership to institutional and national organizations.
