Mary Armanios, MD

Dr. Armanios is Professor of Oncology and Genetic Medicine at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She earned her medical degree at The Ohio State University where she also completed internal medicine-pediatrics residency prior to moving to Johns Hopkins for her oncology training. Her research has focused on understanding the role of telomeres and telomerase in disease. She is a co-founder and inaugural Director of the Telomere Center at Johns Hopkins. In 2019, she was named Associate Director for Education and Training at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Armanios is an elected member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation, the Association of American Physicians, and a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
