The United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation (UMDF)

Margaret joined the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation (UMDF) staff in 2012. Prior to that, she served as a volunteer for the organization. Currently, she serves as UMDF’s Support/Education Associate. She has served in many roles at the UMDF including fundraising, special events and currently, patient support. Margaret has a strong passion for helping individuals and families impacted by mitochondrial diseases navigate their journey. Margaret manages the UMDF’s 100+ person strong volunteer peer to peer Support Ambassador Program. This program assures that patients impacted by mitochondrial disease have a peer to walk alongside them as they learn about this diagnosis. She also hosts many monthly support groups for affected individuals and their caregivers. In addition to her work in patient support, Margaret assists in all of UMDF’s educational initiatives.
