Junie PAULA Warrington, PhD is an assistant professor in the department of Neurology with a secondary appointment in the department of Neurobiology and Anatomical Sciences at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, MS. She received a PhD in neuroscience from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in 2011 and has co-authored 30 peer-reviewed manuscripts and 1 book chapter. Dr. Warrington’s research has been continuously funded by a Pre- and Post-doctoral fellowship from the American Heart Association and a K99/R00 Pathway to Independence grant from the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Warrington is co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Neuroscience Research, editorial board member of AJP: Heart, and social media editor of Stroke. Using translational animal models, Dr. Warrington works on identifying pathophysiological mechanisms contributing to neurovascular abnormalities in preeclampsia-complicated pregnancies during antepartum, peripartum, and postpartum periods.
