Farzaneh Sorond, MD, PhD, FANA

A graduate of the Medical Scientist Training Program at Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Sorond obtained her MD and PhD degrees in 1995 and completed her residency in Neurology in the Harvard-Longwood Neurology Training Program, followed by a joint fellowship in Stroke and Neurocritical Care. She joined the Neurology Department at the BWH in July 2001 as a physician-scientist until her departure for Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine in 2015. Her research continues to focus on understanding the mechanisms linking cerebral small vessel function, structural changes in the brain and the clinical outcomes of cognitive dysfunction and impaired mobility.
