Derek Brandt serves as the Director of Congressional Affairs for the American Academy of Neurology (AAN), the world’s largest neurology specialty society representing more than 38,000 neurologists and clinical neuroscience professionals.
During 13 years in Government Relations, Derek has successfully lobbied to reform physician payments in Medicare, including fundamentally restructuring evaluation and management (E/M) services, resulting in a seven percent increase in reimbursements for neurology. He helped secure billions in federal funding for neuroscience research, expand telemedicine, and grow the AAN’s political action. Derek earned his law degree from The George Washington University Law School with High Honors.
