Deborah Cory-Slechta, PhD

Dr. Deborah Cory-Slechta, Professor of Environmental Medicine at the University of Rochester Medical School and its former Dean for Research, Department Chair and PI of its NIEHS Core Center Grant. Her research, including both animal models and human studies focused on the consequences of exposures to environmental chemicals including metals and pesticides and air pollution on brain and neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental disorders. She has served on advisory panels of the NIH, FDA, EPA, the NAS and ATSDR/CDC. In 2017, she received the Distinguished Neurotoxicologist Award from the Neurotoxicology Specialty Section of the Society of Toxicology, and in 2021, was the recipient of the Distinguished Toxicology Scholar Award from the Society of Toxicology.
