Colin E. Ellis, MD

Colin Ellis, MD, is Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a neurologist and epileptologist with expertise in epilepsy and genetics. Dr. Ellis provides care for adult patients with epilepsy and specializes in the diagnosis and management of genetic epilepsies across the lifespan. His research focuses on genetic causes of epilepsy and the complex non-Mendelian inheritance of epilepsy in families. A second research focus is mining electronic health records using natural language processing. Dr. Ellis is a member of several international consortia focused on understanding the genetic basis of epilepsy, and the ClinGen Gene Curation Expert Panel on Epilepsy.
