Dr. Edén has a scientific background in neuro-HIV research with a focus on CNS effects of antiretroviral therapies, and the use of cerebrospinal fluid biomarkers to monitor infectious processes and treatment response in neuro-HIV. He received his PhD at the University of Gothenburg in 2010, and the Molecular Infection Medicine Sweden (MIMS) clinical research fellowship in 2013. Since the beginning of the current pandemic, his scientific focus has shifted towards the study of neurologic consequences and neuropathogenesis of COVID-19 using CSF and blood biomarkers. Dr. Edén is currently working as an Infectious Disease Consultant at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden.
